He emphasized that continuing the talks is the only option to reduce tensions and achieve lasting peace between the two sides.

In a message posted on the social media platform X, Lindsay expressed satisfaction with the recent interactions between the negotiating teams of both sides and stressed that this process must continue to reach a comprehensive solution. He underlined that dialogue remains the sole effective path to control tensions and ensure stability in the relations between the two parties.

These remarks come as the week-long negotiations between the Taliban and Pakistani delegations concluded without any clear outcome. Mohammad Naeem Wardak, the administrative and financial deputy of the Taliban’s Foreign Ministry, stated that Pakistan’s insistence on “internal security issues” caused the talks to end without success.

Wardak described Pakistan’s position as “illogical” on X and claimed that Islamabad is attempting to shift its internal security problems onto Afghanistan in order to evade its responsibilities. This comes amid rising security tensions along the Durand Line in recent months, which have further complicated the relationship between the two sides.

Despite these statements, the inconclusive end to the talks has once again raised questions about the effectiveness of the Taliban administration’s diplomatic approach in managing regional tensions—tensions that have direct consequences on the security and economic conditions of populations on both sides of the border.

UK urges continuation of Taliban-Pakistan talks after week-long, inconclusive negotiations to reduce tensions and achieve lasting peace.

[17,6

post-10420","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-important-news","category-international
["GET
