Lebanon\u2019s Hezbollah has declared it conducted rocket attacks on the Israeli settlements of Kiryat Shmona and Metula in northern occupied Palestine, in response to what it describes as Israel\u2019s breach of a ceasefire agreement. The group stated it will continue these attacks until the so-called “American-Zionist aggression” ceases.<\/p>\n
According to a statement released by Hezbollah, the first attack occurred at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 9, 2026, when Kiryat Shmona was targeted with a rocket barrage. Hezbollah emphasized that it has adhered to its commitments during the ceasefire period, but that the opposing side has not respected the terms.<\/p>\n
In a separate statement, the group reported another rocket strike at 10:50 a.m. on both Kiryat Shmona and Metula. Simultaneously, warning sirens were sounded in several northern settlements, including Margaliot, Maskaf Am, and Avivim.<\/p>\n
Local sources also reported hearing at least four explosions in the sky over the Marjayoun area in southern Lebanon, where Israeli air defense systems were said to have been activated to intercept the rockets.
