According to the directorate, the sales process was conducted through bidding and involved both domestic and foreign traders. <\/p>\n<p>The emeralds were mined from the districts of Hissa Awal and Paryan, areas considered among the main emerald sources in the country. Historically, Panshir has been known as one of Afghanistan\u2019s most important centers for high-quality emerald production.<\/p>\n<p>However, the Taliban administration has so far not provided details on how the revenues are being spent or how the extraction and sales processes are supervised.
