Officials from the 205 Al-Badr Corps have announced that forces from one of the corps’ battalions confiscated 169 kilograms of silver, inward camera tripods, and a sum of Iranian currency in Spin Boldak district of Kandahar province. According to them, these items were discovered and seized during their transfer across the Durand Line border.<\/p>\n
According to a statement issued by the corps’ media office, soldiers from the “Ali” battalion, affiliated with the Ubaidah border brigade, identified the shipment around 1 a.m. last night during a patrol in the Ashiza village area of Boldak district, following an intelligence report. During the operation, two million Iranian tomans were also seized.<\/p>\n
The battalion commander stated that several individuals intended to smuggle the silver, Iranian currency, and inward camera tripods into Pakistan but were arrested before crossing the border. No further details have been provided about the identities or fate of the detainees.<\/p>\n
The Taliban administration has consistently claimed to increase surveillance over the Durand Line and asserts achievements in preventing smuggling.
