He emphasized that restrictions imposed by the Taliban administration, particularly concerning women’s mobility and the work of female healthcare workers, have severely weakened the country’s healthcare system.

Bennett wrote on his X (formerly Twitter) account that limiting the education and activities of female healthcare workers has made it difficult for female patients to receive essential services. According to him, this situation not only endangers women’s health but also compromises the overall efficiency of Afghanistan’s healthcare system.

In a previous report, he warned that women without a mahram (male guardian) are denied access to healthcare services—a measure that has drawn widespread international concern. Human rights organizations have repeatedly stated that such restrictions violate fundamental human rights principles and the right to equal access to healthcare.

The UN Special Rapporteur further stated that the Taliban administration lacks the capacity and expertise necessary to effectively manage the healthcare system, negatively affecting the quality of services provided in hospitals and medical centers. With this situation ongoing, the future of Afghanistan’s healthcare system and equitable access to medical services for its residents remains highly uncertain.

UN Special Rapporteur highlights how Taliban restrictions have severely weakened Afghanistan’s healthcare system, affecting women’s access and overall service quality.

[9,17,3

post-10293","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-health","category-important-news","category-top-news
["GET
