This symbolic act comes after more than four years of girls being denied secondary and high school education.

The Taliban administration has kept the doors of schools above sixth grade closed to Afghan girls for about 1,600 days. This decision has sparked widespread domestic and international reactions and continues to cast uncertainty over the educational future of millions of girls.

The organizers of this protest say their aim is to raise the voice of girls who have been deprived of their right to education. By holding classes outdoors and behind closed gates, they sought to demonstrate that restrictions do not diminish their determination to continue learning.

This initiative was launched by the “Golden Needle Association,” a literary institution that has been active since the first Taliban rule in the 1990s and has also been involved in cultural and educational sectors in recent years.

The continuation of this situation has raised serious concerns about the social and psychological consequences of the prolonged deprivation of girls from education; an issue that civil activists have repeatedly urged the Taliban administration to urgently reconsider.

Afghan schoolgirls hold online classes behind closed gates in Herat, Kabul, and Takhar, protesting over four years of secondary education ban under Taliban rule.

[17,8

post-10205","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-important-news","category-social-affairs
["GET
