Taliban Sends 18 Technical Staff to Uzbekistan for One-Month Training

The Geophysics Department of the Taliban Ministry of Mines and Petroleum has announced that 18 technical and professional employees of the ministry have been sent to Uzbekistan for a one-month training course. This trip aims to enhance technical capacities and develop practical skills among the staff.
Homayoun Afghan, spokesperson for the ministry, wrote on his X (formerly Twitter) page that this training program is designed to strengthen practical abilities, familiarize participants with modern geophysical technologies, and enable experience exchange with relevant experts in Uzbekistan.
Geophysics is considered a crucial sector in the exploration of natural resources, and the use of advanced technologies in this field can play a decisive role in identifying and evaluating mineral and oil reserves.
However, experts have repeatedly emphasized that such training missions are effective only when their results are transparently shared with the public and the practical application of learned skills is facilitated in various regions of the country—an issue that requires clear planning and accountability from the Taliban administration towards its citizens.
