Trump Says Allies Ready to Deploy Troops to Gaza if Hamas Rejects Peace Deal

U.S. President Donald Trump has said that a number of the United States’ regional allies in West Asia are prepared to deploy military forces to Gaza in coordination with Washington, should Hamas refuse to adhere to peace agreements.

Trump made the remarks in a message posted on his social media platform, Truth Social, adding that the countries in question are willing to take military action if directly ordered by the White House. According to Trump, the goal would be to force Hamas to disarm.

He went on to say, “Such solidarity and support from Middle Eastern countries hasn’t been seen in the last thousand years. I told these countries, and Israel, not yet—because there is still hope that Hamas will change its behavior. If not, Hamas will face a swift, forceful, and ruthless fate.”

Meanwhile, The New York Times has reported that several of these countries, which are expected to send forces to Gaza after the conflict ends to help stabilize the region, are concerned their mission could evolve into direct involvement in the war and potentially render them support forces for the Israeli military. These apprehensions pose a challenge to Trump’s plan to manage post-war Gaza.

While Trump has remained largely silent on Israel’s repeated violations of ceasefires in Gaza, he has consistently called on Hamas to honor peace deals. He also expressed appreciation for efforts by certain countries seeking coordination with the U.S. Additionally, he thanked Indonesia and its leadership for what he described as “extensive assistance” to the Middle East and the United States.
