Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian Addresses US People, Calls for Peace and Understanding

Masoud Pezeshkian, President of Iran, addressed the people of the United States in a message amid recent tensions between the two countries, emphasizing that Iran is not the initiator of war and defines its actions within the framework of self-defense.

In his message, he described Iran as one of the world’s oldest continuous civilizations and stated that in its modern history, the country has not chosen a path of warmongering or domination. Despite pressures and interventions from global powers, Tehran has always distinguished between peoples and governments and has harbored no hostility toward the people of other countries, including Americans.

Pezeshkian regarded the portrayal of Iran as a threat to be inaccurate, attributing it to the political and economic interests of power structures. He claimed that the extensive deployment of US forces and military bases around Iran has increased tensions, and Tehran considers strengthening its defensive capabilities a natural right in response to this situation.

The Iranian president also raised questions about the benefits for the American people from the continuation of conflicts and described attacks on Iran’s vital infrastructures as actions that, according to him, will have widespread human and economic consequences. He emphasized that such actions could further destabilize the region.

In another part of his message, he identified the US withdrawal from previous agreements and its confrontational approach as factors that have intensified tensions. He urged the American people to critically assess media narratives. Pezeshkian highlighted the presence of Iranian students and experts in international universities and companies, underscoring Iran’s scientific and social capacities.

In conclusion, he described confrontation and cooperation as two different paths facing the global community and stated that the choice between these approaches will impact the future of generations to come.
