Severe Rain and Flood Warning Issued for 32 Provinces in Afghanistan

The Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation has announced that until the 12th of Hamal, 32 provinces in Afghanistan will experience heavy rains, thunderstorms, strong winds, and possible flooding. According to the report, rainfall is expected to range between 10 to 50 millimeters, with wind speeds predicted to be between 50 to 95 kilometers per hour.
The provinces included in the warning are Herat, Farah, Nimroz, Helmand, Badghis, Faryab, Ghor, Daykundi, Uruzgan, Kandahar, Zabul, Paktika, Ghazni, Maidan Wardak, Bamyan, Sar-e Pul, Jowzjan, Balkh, Baghlan, Samangan, Parwan, Panjshir, Kapisa, Kabul, Logar, Paktia, Khost, Nangarhar, Laghman, Kunar, Nuristan, Kunduz, and Takhar.
The ministry has urged residents to avoid approaching riverbanks, streams, and other flood-prone areas and to take precautionary measures seriously.
In recent years, seasonal floods in several of these provinces have caused significant human and financial losses. Given the vulnerability of some regions and the lack of adequate disaster management infrastructure, it is expected that the Taliban administration will implement practical and effective actions regarding timely information dissemination and preventive preparedness to prevent potential casualties.
