Floodwaters Surround Kabul’s 16th District Clinic, Threatening Its Operation

Following heavy overnight rainfall in Kabul, a health center in the city’s 16th district has been surrounded by floodwaters and faces a serious risk of destruction, according to local residents. Rising water levels have blocked all roads leading to the clinic, completely halting the movement of patients and healthcare staff.
Several residents reported that the floodwaters surged suddenly, sealing off all entry routes to the health center. As a result, neither patients can reach the clinic for medical services, nor can staff leave the building.
Residents of the 16th district emphasize that, so far, no effective or immediate action has been taken by the Taliban authorities to control the accumulated floodwaters around the center. They warn that if the current situation continues, significant damage to the building and its equipment is likely.
Locals say the health center provides medical services to thousands of families in the surrounding areas and is one of the few accessible centers in this part of the city. They urge the authorities to urgently implement practical measures to prevent the destruction of the clinic and to ensure the continuation of health services.
