WFP Chief Meets Taliban Minister to Discuss Development Projects in Remote Afghan Areas

The Taliban’s Rural Rehabilitation and Development Directorate announced that John Elif, the head of the World Food Programme (WFP), met with Abdul Latif Mansour, the minister of this Directorate. The focus of the meeting was on the implementation of essential projects in remote areas of Afghanistan.

According to published information, the WFP chief stated during the meeting that efforts are being made to create the conditions necessary for carrying out fundamental work in remote regions so that residents of these areas can benefit from it when needed.

The World Food Programme is a United Nations agency involved in food aid and livelihood projects in Afghanistan. Many remote parts of the country, due to lack of infrastructure and widespread poverty, rely heavily on such support programs.

Although the Taliban administration welcomes cooperation with international organizations, ongoing restrictions and administrative challenges in some cases have raised questions about the implementation of development projects. This issue could impact residents of underserved regions’ access to essential services.
