Iran-Linked Hackers Breach FBI Director’s Personal Email, DOJ Confirms

The United States Department of Justice has announced that the personal email of Chris Wray, the Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), was targeted and hacked in a cyberattack. According to the agency, a hacker group known as “Hanzala” has claimed responsibility for the incident.
In an official statement, the U.S. Department of Justice said that hackers affiliated with Iran asserted they gained access to Wray’s personal mailbox and released several images and documents related to him online.
A U.S. Department of Justice official confirmed the incident and stated that initial investigations show the materials published on the internet appear to be authentic. However, no further details have been disclosed regarding the extent of the leaked information or the method of intrusion.
This cyberattack is reported amid ongoing tensions and military confrontations between the United States, Israel, and Iran. Iranian officials have yet to comment on the claims.
