Residents of Khost Declare Readiness for Popular Uprising Against Pakistan
Hundreds of residents from Alisher and Terizo and Zazi Maidan districts of Khost province held a protest gathering, declaring their readiness to launch a popular uprising against what they described as the “recent actions of Pakistani military forces.”
Participants of the gathering emphasized that if necessary, they would stand alongside Afghan defense forces against Pakistan. They also condemned the recent conduct of Pakistani soldiers, labeling it a violation of neighborly principles.
According to the organizers, the people of these border areas are prepared to make any sacrifices to defend the land and sovereignty of the country. They urged other citizens to show solidarity against what they called “external threats.”
Khost province is located in eastern Afghanistan, along the border with Pakistan; a region that has witnessed tensions and sporadic border clashes in past years.
