Iran Denies Reported Recent Contact with US, Calls Claims ‘Complete Fabrication’

An informed Iranian official has denied a report published by Axios about recent communications between Iran and the United States, calling it a ‘complete fabrication.’ According to the official, no contact has taken place between the two sides in recent days. Speaking to Tasnim News Agency, the official emphasized that the claim about initiating talks is false and detached from reality. They added that certain media narratives are driven by specific political agendas. The official noted that as military and economic pressures on US President Donald Trump have increased, there have been instances where messages about negotiations have surfaced, potentially affecting the energy market. However, alongside these messages, hostile military actions against Iranian citizens have not diminished. The official stressed that Tehran remains distrustful of promises made by the US president and that any potential agreement must safeguard Iran’s long-term national security interests and those of its regional partners. According to the official, regional developments are such that conditions will not return to their previous state.
