US Reports Declining Interceptor Missile Stockpiles in Tel Aviv Amid Rising Regional Tensions

A US official has disclosed that Tel Aviv has informed Washington of its rapidly depleting stockpile of interceptor missiles designed to counter ballistic threats. According to the official, this situation has been apparent to American authorities for several months.
Speaking to the website Simfor, the official added that the United States is aware of Israel’s declining missile defense capability but it remains unclear whether Washington will decide to transfer its own interceptor missiles to the region.
Interceptor missiles are a critical component of air defense systems used to detect and destroy incoming missiles. A reduction in these reserves could impact the readiness levels to defend against potential threats.
Meanwhile, Bloomberg cited Marion Misemer, director of the International Security Program at the Chatham House think tank, reporting that Iran is attempting to pressure US air defense systems and missile stockpiles. She noted that the United States purchases a limited number of interceptor missiles annually, which could represent a potential vulnerability.
