Taliban Forces Seize Pakistani Outpost in Khost Amid Border Tensions

A spokesperson for the Taliban administration in Khost province announced that Taliban forces captured a Pakistani military outpost called ‘Jando Sar’ in the Zazi Maidan district on Saturday evening. According to the spokesperson, this outpost was located near the so-called Durand Line, and the Pakistani forces vacated the site without any clashes.
Mustaghfir Garbaz, the spokesperson for the Khost governor, also stated that in a separate incident in the Mastorbal area near the Durand Line, five Pakistani soldiers were killed. He did not provide further details on how this event occurred.
The Durand Line, drawn in the late nineteenth century between Afghanistan and British India, has long been a point of tension between Kabul and Islamabad. In recent years, sporadic clashes have been reported along this line.
Despite these developments, the Taliban administration has yet to clarify the potential consequences of this event or the measures being taken to prevent escalations. An increase in clashes in border regions could have a direct impact on the security situation of local residents and the relations between the two sides.
