Afghanistan’s Chargé d’Affaires Meets Malaysia’s Foreign Ministry Official to Boost Bilateral Relations

The Chargé d’Affaires of the Afghan Embassy in Malaysia met with the Head of Central and South Asia Department at Malaysia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs to discuss expanding bilateral relations, economic and social cooperation, and creating job opportunities for Afghan citizens.
According to a statement posted on the Afghan Embassy’s X page, Naqibullah Ahmadi, who heads the Taliban-run Afghan Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, held talks with Oghli Nur Yanti, focusing on enhancing interactions between Kabul and Kuala Lumpur.
The embassy’s announcement stated that both sides reviewed ways to strengthen ties and emphasized the provision of job opportunities and increased facilities for Afghan residents in Malaysia. Recent regional developments were also a key topic of discussion.
The meeting underscored the importance of expanding trade cooperation between the two countries. Both parties expressed hope for an increase in economic exchanges. In recent years, the Taliban administration has sought to bolster economic relations with regional and Southeast Asian countries through its diplomatic missions, aiming to improve the situation for migrants and alleviate the unemployment crisis within Afghanistan.
