Construction Begins on 130 MW Solar Power Plant in Ghazni Province

Breshna Company has announced that, in collaboration with Azizi Energy Company, construction of a 130-megawatt solar power plant in Ghazni province is set to begin. According to the company, this project is expected to be completed and operational within the next two years.
A press release from Breshna states that this power plant is part of the country’s renewable energy development programs. Officials have indicated that once completed, the project will help meet some of the electricity needs in the relevant regions.
Breshna Company also announced the signing of contracts for 15 other solar power projects. According to provided information, the total capacity of these projects exceeds 700 megawatts.
In recent years, Afghanistan has faced electricity shortages and heavy reliance on energy imports. Expanding domestic electricity production, particularly solar energy—which the country’s geographic location makes well-suited for—could play a crucial role in reducing this dependence.
