Turkey Labels Kurdish Separatist Activities Against Iran as Regional Security Threat

Turkey’s Ministry of Defense issued a statement declaring that it is closely monitoring the movements of Kurdish separatist groups linked to Iran and considers these activities a threat to Iran’s security and regional stability.
The statement emphasized that any armed or destabilizing actions in border areas could have extensive security consequences across the region. Ankara added that it is carefully following developments related to these groups.
Simultaneously, reports have emerged that the United States recently attempted to gain support from some regional countries, including Iraq and Turkey, to equip and organize Kurdish rebel and separatist groups for ground attacks on Iran’s borders; however, this effort was unsuccessful.
According to these reports, the Kurdistan Regional Government in Iraq has also expressed its opposition to arming these groups and deploying them to Iran’s borders. So far, no further details have been released regarding the nature of these movements or potential diplomatic responses.
