Pentagon Estimates Iran War Could Cost $1 Billion Per Day

A U.S. congressional official has stated that the Pentagon’s preliminary estimate indicates that a full-scale war with Iran could cost up to one billion dollars per day. According to the official, if the conflict continues, this amount would place significant pressure on the United States’ budget and economy.
Reported by American media, the official emphasized in an interview with The Atlantic magazine that such a level of military spending would require extensive financial and logistical resource allocation. Further details about the framework of this estimate and potential scenarios have not yet been released.
At the same time, The Washington Post published a separate report noting that the Pentagon’s stockpiles of precision-guided weapons are dwindling. According to the report, thousands of advanced air defense missiles and expensive munitions have been used during recent attacks.
The Washington Post added that in less than a week since the attacks began, the consumption of these weapons reached a level that raised concerns about the readiness and remaining reserves. U.S. officials have so far refrained from publicly commenting on the specifics of these concerns.
