Taliban Authorities Report Normal Operations on Khaf-Herat Railway Line

Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesperson for the Taliban administration, announced today, March 2, that the activities of the Khaf-Herat railway commission and related departments are proceeding as usual, and the transport of commercial goods along this route continues uninterrupted.
According to Mujahid, a goods train carrying 42 wagons of cement and two wagons of MDF boards has arrived at the Rosnak station in Herat province. He added that another train loaded with food supplies and fuel is expected to reach the same station by night.
The Taliban spokesperson also quoted Iranian railway officials as saying that currently, 900 wagons are in transit within Iran heading toward Afghanistan and are expected to enter the country under normal operations. The Khaf-Herat railway line is one of the key routes for transporting goods between Afghanistan and Iran, playing a significant role in supplying building materials and food.
Meanwhile, Mujahid urged national merchants not to raise prices on commercial goods without valid reasons. This appeal comes amid repeated complaints from citizens in recent months about rising market prices and concerns over the lack of effective market oversight, which remains a serious challenge for consumers.
