Shia Communities in Germany Hold Mourning Ceremonies for the Martyrdom of Grand Ayatollah Imam Khamenei

Afghan Shiites residing in Germany, alongside other devoted followers of the martyred leader Grand Ayatollah Imam Khamenei (may God sanctify his pure soul) around the world, gathered in mosques across various German cities to mourn following the announcement of the martyrdom of the leader of the Islamic Ummah.

Afghans living in Frankfurt, together with mourners from countries including Iraq, Pakistan, Lebanon, and others, assembled at the Imam Mahdi Mosque in the city to commemorate the martyrdom of the leader of the Islamic world.

Hojjat al-Islam wal-Muslimeen Sheikh Zakaria Mashkoor Kaboli, Imam of Friday prayers in Frankfurt, condemned the terrorist act that led to the martyrdom of Grand Ayatollah Imam Khamenei and several other commanders and political officials of the Islamic Republic. He called on the Federal Republic of Germany to strongly denounce this brutal act.

In his speech, he stated: “Ayatollah Khamenei is the only leader on earth in our time who did not bow to the Pharaoh of the era. Like his ancestor Hussein ibn Ali (peace be upon him), he stood firm until the last moment, eloquently defending humanity, justice, and freedom—principles essential to human life.”

The Imam of Frankfurt also said: “It is an honor for us that our leader and guide departed from this world as a martyr rather than dying in bed.”

Mashkoor Kaboli added: “We are proud to follow a leader who truly united Shiite and Sunni and supported the oppressed Muslims of Palestine. He lived 87 years with dignity, honor, and purity, and on the day of the passing of Umm al-Mu’mineen Khadijah Kubra, during Ramadan, while fasting, he embraced martyrdom not in hiding but in his office.”

In another gathering held at the Payam Noor Mosque in Hanover, Germany, mourners condemned the brutal act of the U.S. government for assassinating the Shiite marja (religious authority).

Hojjat al-Islam wal-Muslimeen Seyyed Ahmad Mousavi, the imam and preacher of Payam Noor Mosque, said in his remarks: “We are proud to have lived in an era that saw prominent figures such as Imam Khomeini (may his soul be sanctified), the martyred Grand Ayatollah Khamenei (may God sanctify his pure soul), the martyred Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah, and the martyred Haj Qasem Soleimani. They have become role models of religion based on pure Muhammadan Islam for humanity.”

He continued: “Tawalla and Tabarra (loyalty and disavowal) are fundamental tenets of Muslim faith, and based on these principles, we express our disavowal of the oppressors and tyrants who played a role in the brutal assassination of the leader of the Islamic Ummah. We loudly proclaim our loyalty to the martyred leader of freedom-seekers worldwide.”

Mousavi added: “Martyr Ayatollah Khamenei was a living embodiment of the life of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) for contemporary humans, inheriting courage, eloquence, justice, and steadfastness on principles from him. He fully demonstrated these traits so that we have a clear image of Imam Ali’s character reflected in him.”

Participants in the mourning ceremonies for the martyred leader of the Islamic Ummah expressed their devotion through chest-beating and lamentations and pledged to continue his path in the struggle against arrogance.
