Russia Condemns US and Israeli Attack on Iran, Calls for Immediate Halt and Diplomatic Talks
The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has condemned the joint attack by the United States and Israel on Iran, describing it as an “aggressive” and unwarranted act. Moscow has called for an immediate cessation of military operations and the resumption of diplomatic negotiations. The statement emphasized that the continuation of these actions could have serious consequences for regional stability.
The ministry’s statement noted that Washington and Tel Aviv, citing concerns over Iran’s nuclear program, are seeking regime change in the country. Russia characterized the bombing of nuclear facilities under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency as “unacceptable.”
Moscow warned that these attacks increase the risk of a “humanitarian, economic, and possibly radiological catastrophe” in the region. The statement further asserted that the responsibility for escalating tensions lies with the United States and Israel.
Russia declared its readiness to play a mediating role in achieving a peaceful resolution among the involved parties. The country stressed the necessity of returning to the path of diplomacy and preventing the spread of instability in the Middle East.
