According to Stephane Dujarric, the continuation of these tensions could further worsen the situation for civilian populations in the border regions.

The UN Secretary-General has called for an immediate ceasefire, emphasizing that both parties must resolve their disputes through diplomatic means and dialogue. He added that the protection of civilians must be a top priority.
