Trump Claims He Prevented War Between Iran and Pakistan

U.S. President Donald Trump made a controversial and factually incorrect statement on Wednesday, claiming he had prevented military conflict between Iran and Pakistan.
During a speech, Trump mistakenly referred to Iran instead of India, saying he had been finalizing a trade deal with Iran when he suddenly became aware of tensions between Iran and Pakistan. He claimed to have held urgent talks with both parties, warning them that if they went to war, he would impose severe 200% tariffs and ban them from doing business with the United States.
Trump asserted that his intervention stopped a potential war within 24 hours, preventing what he called a “possible nuclear war.” His claim came despite no credible reports in recent years indicating any serious military confrontation between Iran and Pakistan in international media.
In the same speech, Trump also quoted Russian President Vladimir Putin, claiming Putin praised the capabilities of American B-2 bombers. Trump said that in their correspondence from Alaska, Putin remarked, “These will get the job done.”
Addressing the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, Trump accused Iran of supporting Hamas, but claimed that Iran is now struggling for its own political and economic survival.
Trump’s baseless claims and multiple factual errors have reignited concerns over the accuracy and reliability of his understanding of international affairs, particularly regarding Asian nations.
