Oman and Iran Hold Diplomatic Talks in Geneva Focused on Nuclear Deal

Oman’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Badr Albusaidi, the Omani Foreign Minister, met and held talks with Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in Geneva. The main focus of the meeting was to discuss Iran’s proposals for reaching a nuclear agreement.
An official statement from Oman’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that both sides exchanged views on ways to achieve a deal and the grounds for advancing negotiations. No further details about the content of the proposals were released.
According to the statement, the Omani Foreign Minister emphasized during the meeting that Muscat supports dialogues and efforts to reach mutually acceptable solutions. Oman has previously played a facilitating role in several regional diplomatic processes.
The Ministry also announced that Albusaidi is scheduled to meet with the U.S. negotiating team this morning in Geneva. These meetings are part of the diplomatic efforts related to Iran’s nuclear file.
