Former Afghan Representative Shot in Karaj, Iran

Karamuddin Reza Zadeh, the former representative of Ghor province in the Afghan parliament, was injured in a shooting by armed assailants in the Mohammadshahr area of Karaj, Iran, on the evening of Tuesday, February 23. Sources confirmed the incident occurred around 4 PM.
According to sources, two motorcycle riders opened fire on Mr. Reza Zadeh, with one bullet striking his left hand. The sources added that the shooters aimed to hit his heart, but the bullet did not hit that area.
Mr. Reza Zadeh was taken to a local hospital following the incident. After receiving initial treatment, he was discharged and reported to be in good health.
In recent years, several former military and political figures from Afghanistan have been targeted in attacks in Iran. Previously, General Akramuddin Sar-i, the former police chief of Takhar province, was killed in Tehran, and Maruf Gholami, a former anti-Taliban jihadi commander close to Ismail Khan, was killed in Mashhad.
