China Urges US to Revoke New Tariffs Following Supreme Court Ruling

China’s Ministry of Commerce has called on the United States to review its tariff policies and halt unilateral customs measures following a ruling by the US Supreme Court. This request comes after an increase in import tariffs imposed by US President Donald Trump.
According to international media reports, the US Supreme Court on Friday canceled tariffs that had previously been imposed by Trump. The decision came after months of review and rejected the government’s request to implement customs tariffs through a specific mechanism.
Despite this ruling, President Trump announced plans to raise import tariffs from all countries from 10 percent to 15 percent. In a message on the social media platform Truth Social, he stated that the decision was made after thoroughly reviewing the Supreme Court ruling and considered it within the legal authority of the presidency.
In his message, Trump accused some countries of exploiting the United States over decades. The tariff increase could impact America’s trade relations with its economic partners—a development that has now drawn an official response from China.
