Indian Investor Shows Interest in Launching Gemstone Exhibition and Pharma Trade in Afghanistan

The Taliban’s Ministry of Industry and Commerce has announced that an Indian businessman has expressed interest in establishing a gemstone exhibition in Afghanistan and fostering trade links between Afghan and Indian merchants in the pharmaceutical sector.
According to the ministry’s statement, Nooruddin Azizi, acting minister of industry and commerce, met with Ankush Satana, the Indian businessman, and his accompanying delegation. During the meeting, Satana expressed his readiness to set up a special exhibition showcasing Afghan gemstones domestically while simultaneously facilitating cooperation between traders of the two countries in pharmaceutical products.
The statement also quoted the businessman as saying that Germany has developed technology to produce large quantities of diesel fuel from plastic waste, and he is willing to transfer this technology to Afghanistan. Further details about the practical implementation of this plan and potential investment amounts have not been disclosed.
The acting minister welcomed these proposals, stating that Afghanistan offers good investment opportunities and that the country’s private sector is prepared to collaborate with foreign investors. However, economic experts consistently emphasize that to attract sustainable investment, the Taliban administration must provide transparency, legal guarantees, and stability in economic policies.
