Lavrov and Rodriguez Meet in Moscow, Emphasize Resolving Disputes Through Diplomacy

Sergey Lavrov, Russia’s Foreign Minister, met with his Cuban counterpart, Bruno Rodriguez, in Moscow, urging the United States to act with prudence regarding Cuba and to refrain from implementing any plans related to a naval blockade of the country. He stressed that Moscow supports Havana in safeguarding its security.
Lavrov also rejected allegations that the cooperation between Russia and Cuba poses a threat to Washington or other parties. According to him, the relations between the two countries are defined within the framework of bilateral cooperation and should not be perceived as a threat to others.
The Russian Foreign Minister emphasized that all disputes must be resolved through dialogue and exchange of views. He underlined the importance of diplomatic solutions to prevent further tensions.
Meanwhile, Bruno Rodriguez declared that the United States is exerting pressures on Havana that he claims contradict international laws. He added that the Cuban people are facing significant challenges and the country’s situation has deteriorated due to Washington’s policies.
Rodriguez described Moscow-Havana relations as historic and strategic, emphasizing the continuation of cooperation between the two countries in various fields. Cuba has faced U.S. sanctions for decades and has maintained close relations with Russia.
