Panjshir’s Bazarak Municipality Reports 33% Increase in Revenue

The Bazarak Municipality in Panjshir province has announced a 33 percent increase in its revenue this year compared to last year. According to the figures presented, the municipality collected 16 million Afghanis in revenue over the past 11 months, while the total revenue for the previous year was reported to be 12 million Afghanis.
Rahmatullah Mohammadi, the mayor of Bazarak, stated that this revenue was generated from various sources. He explained that sanitation fees from government institutions and residential houses, issuance of business licenses for shops, rent from municipal properties, and other income sources were among the main contributors to the municipality’s revenue.
According to the mayor, adherence to the law and transparency in the collection process, strict enforcement of regulations, expansion of revenue sources—especially in sanitation services and business licenses—as well as stringent supervision and improved financial management were key factors behind the revenue increase. He also attributed the growth to the flourishing of local economic activities.
Mohammadi emphasized that through effective management and continuous monitoring of revenue sources, the collection process has improved, which has played an important role in strengthening the municipality’s financial foundation and advancing urban affairs.
He added that a portion of the collected revenue is being used to implement developmental projects throughout the city of Bazarak, and efforts are ongoing to enhance urban services in various areas.
