Taliban Court’s Crescent Sighting Committee Urges Public to Spot Ramadan Moon

The Crescent Sighting Committee of the Supreme Court under the Taliban administration has urged citizens to look for the Ramadan crescent moon this Tuesday evening after Isha prayers in their respective areas. If the moon is sighted, eyewitnesses are requested to submit their testimonies to the courts and the Crescent Sighting Committee on site.

According to an announcement on the institution’s official page, those who see the moon must register their religious testimony by visiting the nearest court. It is emphasized that after the purification process of the witnesses, their statements will be reviewed based on Islamic principles.

The announcement states that the final decision on the start of Ramadan will be declared by the Central Crescent Sighting Committee. Each year, as Ramadan approaches, the process of moon sighting and its official announcement is conducted by the religious institutions of the Taliban administration and forms the basis for the start of fasting in the country.
