Snow and Rain Forecasted in 16 Provinces Across Afghanistan

The Meteorological Department of the Taliban’s Ministry of Transport and Aviation has announced that today, Sunday (February 15), and tomorrow, snow and rain are expected in 16 provinces across the country. According to this forecast, residents of several western, southern, central, and northern provinces may witness significant weather changes.
The provinces included in this forecast are Herat, Farah, Nimroz, Helmand, Kandahar, Zabul, Paktia, Ghazni, Uruzgan, Daikundi, Ghor, Badghis, Faryab, Sar-e Pol, Bamyan, and Maidan Wardak. The meteorological department has reported snowfall amounts ranging from 10 to 45 centimeters and rainfall between 10 to 45 millimeters in these areas.
It has also been stated that wind speeds in the western, southern, and southeastern provinces may reach 50 to 95 kilometers per hour. The department has warned of possible flash floods in the warm regions.
Experts consistently emphasize that under such weather conditions, residents—especially those on mountainous routes and vulnerable areas—should take precautionary measures to avoid potential damages.
