209 Afghan Prisoners Released from Sindh Jail in Pakistan, Returned to Afghanistan

The acting head of the Taliban administration’s consulate in Karachi has announced that 209 Afghan prisoners, including women and children, have been released from a jail in Pakistan’s Sindh province and returned to Afghanistan.

Abdul Jabbar Takhari stated that these individuals were freed today and their repatriation process has been completed. According to him, the prisoners had been held in one of Sindh’s detention centers.

He added that 105 other Afghan prisoners remain in the same prison and are expected to be transferred to Afghanistan within the next two days.

In recent years, arrests and deportations of Afghans have increased in some Pakistani provinces, with many migrants facing legal and residency challenges. The ongoing return of these prisoners comes amid calls from their families for more serious attention to the legal status and support for Afghan migrants abroad.
