679 Afghan Families Return from Iran and Pakistan Amid Ongoing Migration Flow

Continuing the trend of migrant returns, 679 Afghan families arrived in the country yesterday from Iran and Pakistan. These families returned through several border crossings in western and southeastern Afghanistan.

According to local sources, 16 families entered through the Silk Bridge crossing in Nimroz province, and 7 families crossed via Islam Qala in Herat province—two of the most significant border points between Afghanistan and Iran.

Additionally, 30 families returned through Spin Boldak in Kandahar province, 4 families via Bahramcha in Helmand province, and 622 families arrived through the Torkham crossing in Nangarhar province. Torkham is one of the main border crossings between Afghanistan and Pakistan and accounts for the largest number of returnees.

The arrivals come as many returning families face economic challenges and lack basic facilities in border areas and key cities across the country.
