Taliban Premier Mullah Hasan Akhund Marks Start of Kabul-Bagram Road Project

Mullah Mohammad Hasan Akhund, the Prime Minister of the Taliban administration, described the Kabul-Bagram road construction project as significant and important in a message marking its inauguration. He stated that the implementation reflects the Taliban’s commitment to infrastructure development.
In his message sent to the opening ceremony, he noted that this road should have been constructed years ago, but the time has now come to begin it. The Kabul-Bagram route is one of the major transport corridors in the north of the capital, linking Kabul’s main highway to the Bagram district of Parwan province.
The Taliban prime minister added that the administration is advancing developmental and infrastructural projects across the country with organized plans and prioritization, aiming to reduce citizens’ problems and accelerate progress. However, in recent years, there have been criticisms about the slow pace or halt of some infrastructure projects, with citizens consistently demanding the practical fulfillment of promises.
The message emphasized that upon completion, the Kabul-Bagram road will improve transportation ease and create conditions for the growth of economic activities along the route. It was also claimed that this project could generate direct and indirect job opportunities for residents of the related areas—an outcome contingent on the project’s transparent and timely implementation.
