ICRC Supports 47 Primary Healthcare Centers in Afghanistan, Serving Over 1.2 Million Patients

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) announced in its 2025 annual report that it has supported 47 primary healthcare centers affiliated with the Afghan Red Crescent Society, providing medical services to more than 1.2 million patients. According to the report, 64 percent of the beneficiaries of these services are women and girls.

The report states that during the past year, over 337,000 vaccine doses were administered at these centers. This effort comes amid the continued high demand for primary healthcare services in many parts of the country.

Additionally, hundreds of healthcare workers received professional and technical training and benefited from capacity-building programs. The ICRC emphasized that the aim of these supports is to strengthen primary healthcare services and increase community access to essential medical care.
