Over 64 Million Afghanis Paid as Land Compensation Along Herat-Khawaf Railway Project

Local officials in Herat province have announced that more than 64 million Afghanis have been paid as land compensation to residents affected by land acquisition along the route of the second phase of the Herat-Khawaf railway project.
According to the officials, these payments pertain to the fourth section of the project’s second phase. During this process, 152 individuals in the districts of Zindajan, Injil, and Guzara were identified, of whom 140 were civilians and private landowners.
Based on the information provided, the total budget allocated for land compensation in this section of the project was 68 million Afghanis. To date, over 64 million Afghanis have been distributed to 134 affected individuals.
Officials added that six others have yet to receive their compensation due to their absence at the scheduled time. The payment process for these individuals is expected to continue after completing the necessary administrative procedures.
