Taliban’s Mullah Baradar Calls for Political and Economic Engagement with Taliban Administration

Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs of the Taliban administration, has emphasized the necessity for countries to engage politically and economically with the Taliban government. He stated that such relations should be pursued within the framework of the values and principles of the Islamic Emirate.
He expressed his belief that the energy and resources currently spent on undermining one another could be more effectively utilized to support mutual aid and strengthen commonalities among countries.
These remarks come at a time when the Taliban administration has yet to be recognized as a legitimate government by the international community. Criticism continues, particularly concerning restrictions on human rights and political participation.
Critics stress that any sustainable and meaningful engagement with the Taliban administration requires clear policy changes, respect for the fundamental rights of Afghan citizens, and accountability to the demands of the global community.
