Solar Kits Distributed to 750 Earthquake-Affected Families in Nurgal, Kunar
The Disaster Management and Preparedness Directorate of Kunar announced that, in collaboration with the Danish Refugee Council, solar kits have been distributed to 750 earthquake-affected families in Nurgal district. This assistance aims to provide an immediate response to the basic needs of the affected families.
According to the directorate’s newsletter, the distribution process took place after conducting surveys and identifying the needs of families impacted by the recent earthquake. Officials stated that priority was given to families who suffered the most damage.
Local authorities noted that the solar kits can play an important role in providing lighting and alleviating daily challenges for families, especially as winter and lack of living facilities have made conditions difficult for residents of the area.
Kunar, located in eastern Afghanistan, faces serious challenges in accessing services and urgent aid during natural disasters due to its mountainous geography.
