Taliban Minister of Water and Energy Visits Pashdan Dam in Herat to Assess Its Condition

Mullah Mohammad Younus Akhundzada, the Taliban’s Minister of Water and Energy, visited the Pashdan Dam during his trip to Herat province and reviewed the general condition of the dam.

The Department of Water and Energy stated that during this visit, the minister gave necessary instructions to relevant officials to preserve and maintain the Pashdan Dam, which plays a crucial role in supplying and managing the water resources of the province.

During the visit, Mullah Abdulsalam Mostofi Agha, General Head of the Harirud-Murghab Zone, Mullah Abdulsalam Hijrat, Head of Rural Rehabilitation and Development of Herat, Hafiz Khairullah, Head of Telecommunications, and the Head of Water and Energy of Herat province accompanied the minister.

Given the importance of such projects for the residents of Herat, it is expected that the Taliban administration will, alongside official visits, also provide transparent and accountable plans for sustainable water resource management and addressing the real needs of people in various areas.
