Guterres: Rule of Law is the Foundation of Lasting Peace

Antonio Guterres, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, emphasized that the rule of law is the cornerstone of the UN’s mission to ensure just and lasting peace worldwide.

On Monday night, January 26, Guterres wrote in a message on the social media platform X that he is determined to continue the UN’s persistent efforts to achieve peace firmly based on international law.

According to the UN Secretary-General, real and sustainable peace is only possible when the fundamental roots of conflicts are addressed, and exclusive focus on the symptoms and consequences of crises is set aside.
