Suicide Bombing in Dera Ismail Khan Claims Five Lives, Injures Ten

Pakistani police have announced that at least five people were killed and ten others wounded following a suicide bombing in the Dera Ismail Khan area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The deadly attack occurred during a wedding celebration.

According to Pakistan’s Dawn newspaper, the explosion took place at the residence of Noor Alam Mehsud, the head of the local peace committee, who is reported to be among the deceased. Local police have confirmed it was a suicide attack.

Bilal Ahmed Faizi, spokesperson for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Rescue Services, stated that five bodies and ten injured individuals were taken to the hospital, with some of the wounded requiring urgent medical attention.

Local authorities have cordoned off the area and launched official investigations to identify the perpetrators. Police say investigations are ongoing to determine the motives and circumstances of the attacker.

Sohail Afridi, the Senior Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, strongly condemned the attack and instructed relevant agencies to identify those responsible and bring them to justice in accordance with the law.
