Iran and Pakistan Representatives Meet on the Sidelines of Moscow Format Talks

Mohammad Sadiq, Pakistan’s Special Representative for Afghanistan, announced that ahead of the Moscow Format meeting, he met with his Iranian counterpart, Mohammadreza Bahrami, in Moscow.

According to his statements, the two sides held serious discussions during this meeting about the latest developments in Afghanistan and security threats, particularly the ongoing danger of terrorism. Both parties emphasized the importance of continuing dialogue and coordination to address their shared challenges.

Representatives of Iran and Pakistan also focused on increasing bilateral cooperation and strengthening regional interactions to support stability and security in the region.

These consultations come as the Moscow Format meeting is scheduled to take place with the participation of several countries to review the current situation in Afghanistan. The expansion of security threats, human rights violations, and international isolation are among the challenges Afghanistan faces after the Taliban’s recent takeover.
