Trump Threatens Venezuela Again, Warns of Tougher Measures if Washington’s Demands Are Ignored

Donald Trump, the President of the United States, has once again threatened Venezuela, stating that if the country’s Vice President does not comply with Washington’s demands, the US will consider tougher options.
In an interview with the New York Post, citing Al Jazeera, Trump claimed that a ‘second wave’ is on the way, which he described as much broader than the first phase, and that Venezuelan officials are aware of the consequences. He added that he does not see the need to deploy American troops to Venezuela as long as Washington’s demands are met.
The American president also emphasized that he has no intentions of taking military action against Cuba, asserting that the political system in Cuba would collapse without foreign intervention. Trump further claimed that several Cubans have died after supporting Nicolás Maduro, without providing further details.
These remarks came just minutes after a televised speech by Delcy Rodríguez, the Vice President of Venezuela, broadcast from the capital, Caracas. In her message, Rodríguez called for the release of Nicolás Maduro, the President of Venezuela, and his wife.
The Venezuelan Vice President, emphasizing that her country will never be a colony of any power, urged Venezuelan citizens to remain calm and united in defending the nation.
Speaking alongside Venezuela’s Foreign and Defense Ministers, she asserted that the current government remains in power and is prepared to defend the country’s national sovereignty with full strength. Rodríguez also rejected any foreign military intervention and condemned recent acts of violence against Venezuela.
