UN Raises Serious Concerns Over Israel’s Suspension of Aid Organizations in Gaza

The United Nations has expressed serious concern over the Israeli regime’s recent decision to suspend the activities of certain international non-governmental organizations operating in Gaza, describing the move as a direct threat to humanitarian aid efforts.

Stephane Dujarric, spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General, stated that this decision follows previous restrictions and has delayed the entry of vital food and medical supplies into Gaza. He warned that the continuation of this course could further deteriorate the humanitarian situation for the civilian population.

Dujarric cautioned that suspending the work of aid organizations would exacerbate the Palestinian humanitarian crisis and pose a serious risk to the fragile gains achieved during the Gaza ceasefire. He emphasized that these organizations play an essential role in carrying out humanitarian missions.

Simultaneously, 53 international NGOs—including Amnesty International, Doctors Without Borders, and Oxfam—issued a joint statement warning about the human consequences of this decision, asserting that revoking licenses would severely disrupt relief operations.

According to their statement, 37 international organizations received an official notice on December 30 indicating that their registration had been terminated. They have been given 60 days to cease activities in Gaza and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, in accordance with regulations.

These developments follow the Israeli cabinet’s move to begin canceling the licenses of certain international bodies, citing their failure to meet legal registration requirements. Human rights organizations view this action as an increased pressure on humanitarian efforts.
