Nearly 200 Flood-Stranded Residents in Farah Rescued and Relocated to Safe Areas

Following floods in parts of Farah province, rescue forces successfully evacuated nearly 200 residents trapped in water from several locations to safe areas on Wednesday.

According to Mawlawi Mohammad Nasim Badri, spokesman for Farah police, the operation was carried out in coordination with security forces, ground units, and the air force of the 207 Al-Farooq Corps under the Taliban administration. Individuals stranded in the Qargh-e-Zard and Dozdak areas near Farah city were rescued through three helicopter flights.

Simultaneously, Mawlawi Sheikh Mir Saddam, head of public health in Farah, stated that medical teams were present on-site and provided initial health services to the rescued individuals after their transfer.

According to local officials, the recent floods in Farah caused not only financial damage but also claimed at least one life and injured several others—a development that once again highlights concerns regarding crisis management and the preparedness of responsible institutions to handle natural disasters.
