Sudden Opening of Gaza Valley Water Channel Floods and Destroys Refugee Tents

Local Palestinian sources report that the sudden opening of a water channel in Gaza Valley has caused widespread destruction of refugee tents, worsening the living conditions of the displaced amid cold weather and rainfall.
According to these reports, Israeli occupation forces abruptly opened the water channel in Gaza Valley early this morning. This action resulted in a large volume of water flooding the areas where Palestinian refugees are housed, submerging their tents and basic belongings.
Sources emphasized that this operation was carried out without any prior warning. Consequently, the dilapidated refugee tents were destroyed, and their living areas severely flooded. Witnesses stated that many families lost all their meager possessions within a short time.
This incident follows recent rainfall in Gaza that had already caused significant problems for refugees. Critics say that such actions, combined with adverse weather conditions, have doubled the humanitarian suffering of the refugees and highlight a serious disregard for fundamental humanitarian principles in the region.
