Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Criticizes Damage to Democracy and Supreme Court

Sohail Afridi, the Chief Minister of Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, criticized several political factions in the country, stating that these groups, driven by a thirst for power, have harmed the democratic system and even the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
According to Afridi, these actions have not only weakened legal processes but have also undermined public trust in the state’s fundamental institutions—a concern frequently raised by political observers in Pakistan in recent years.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister also announced that preparations are underway to hold peaceful protests, which are being led by Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
He emphasized that these protests are intended to be conducted peacefully with the purpose of expressing political demands, even as Pakistan’s political environment continues to face tensions and deep divisions among parties.
